FAIRIES

The portrayal of fear or desire shakes the foundation of the viewer’s personal and cultural understanding and causes irritation.  The underlying ambivalence of simultaneous attraction and repulsion is seductively packaged in an apparently conventional form.
These portraits are not about representation but about exposing the observation mechanism of the viewer who recognises that having been confronted with his own fright, becomes a victim of it.

This project of 1997-98 contains images taken with a large format camera Linhof, includes of 20 photographic works an edition of 3 + 2 AP. C-print, 120 x 160 cm
