SHADOWS CAST PEOPLE

There is no “up” and “down”, three-dimensional objects are perceived as flat, gravity is reversed. Like riding a carousel the observer loses his spacial orientation.
The shadows are independent from the people and perform their spectacle, in which the people only play a minor part, mostly unnoticed. Mickey Mouse, Nosferatu, Minotaurus appear just like a serial killer, a bear with a revolver or a Multi-storeyed woman … and even Jimi Hendrix.

This project of 2008-10 contains images an edition of 3 + AP (90×60 cm; 35×24“) and 10 + AP (24×35 cm; 9,5×14“).

All the photographs of the artwork “When Shadows Cast People” was taken from the balcony of artist in Berlin during the summers, always in the afternoon between 4:30 and 6:00.

Some of these works are printed as an edition of 3 and some as an edition of 10,
